Windows 8 Hackathon - Advanced
Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM (CST)
Little Rock, AR
This is the advanced version of the Windows 8 Hackathon where we will be building apps in Visual Studio 2012 from scratch using XAML and C# programming. This course has been designed for people who have prior experience with some kind of programming. (You aren't required to know C# or XAML. Knowing Java or C++ is just as good.) If you want to know how to take full control of your application and build it from the ground up, then this is the course for you! Spaces are limited, so please register quickly!
Want to EARN $1,000? Want to build your very own Windows 8 Game? This event will teach you how to develop your very own Windows 8 Applications and have them published to the marketplace for the world to see! The event will last from 10:00 AM to 5:00PM on Saturday, February 9. (We will also have a "no programming required" event on Friday, February 8, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, which you can register for HERE.) There will also be an advanced class on Saturday teaching users to code from scratch using C# and XAML. Joining us will be Dr. Bradley Jensen, an Academic Evangelist and Senior Executive for Microsoft. He will be teaching students how to develop for Windows 8 using Scirra, which requires no prior programming knowledge.
You can EARN $100 PER APP that you have accepted into the store, up to 10 apps each! This means that each developer can earn up to $1,000! We will also have plenty of other prizes available to give away, such as Xbox games and various other Microsoft Swag, that will be given out throughout the day. Space is limited so register soon!
So if you are interested in having fun, learning how to develop your very own apps and games, and earning some easy cash, please join us! Register now as spaces are limited!
NOTE: You must bring your own laptop or computer. We will have FREE installations of Windows 8 and Visual Studio 2012 for attendees so that they can take advantage of the great offers, but if you do not bring your own computer, you will be unable to participate in the workshops. There are limited computers available in the lab with Windows 8. If you are unable to bring your own laptop, please email me at alec.crow@studentpartner to reserve one.
